I enjoyed the topic tonight in the Young People's meeting. Our topic was entitled "Tell Him" from the Collected Works of Watchman Nee, The (Set 1) Vol. 18: Notes on Scriptural Messages (2) by Watchman Nee.
I was enlightened that the Lord Jesus is the One to whom we can tell everything. The Lord Jesus is willing to listen to everything, even the small matters. The Lord is the Lord in whom we can confide. And He is happy whenever we come to Him and tell everything to Him.
Many times in our experience, we just come to the Lord to tell Him about our problems and sorrows. Whenever we have problems, we easily come to the Lord to tell Him about our situation. But many times, especially when we are happy, we always forget to also tell it to the Lord. We should tell everything to the Lord, whether happy or sad things. We should tell Him every secrets of our heart. Eventhough the Lord knows every secrets in our hearts, He still wanted us to tell them all to Him. Bro Nee said that we need to realize that when we have a thorough talk with the Lord and pour out our heart to Him, our intimacy with the Lord is one step further to know Him a little more. Our intimate contact with HIm will cause us to advance or grow in life.
In this message, I remembered the hymn entitled "Someone". Below is the first stanza of the hymn:
Is there someone who's a friend
That I can open to?
A someone who understands
All that I'm going through?
A someone when there's no one
I can always come to?
There is no someone like this One.
There is a someone;
Someone you can open to.
There is a someone;
Someone who will take you through.
There is a someone when there is no one;
There is a someone, a wonderful One.
The Lord Jesus is our real friend. He is the "Someone" whom we can open to. He is the "Someone" who understands all that we're going through. He is the "Someone" whom we can always come to. This "Someone" is the wonderful One. This "Someone" is the Lord Jesus!
Sometimes we hope to find someone to whom we can tell our sorrows and joys, or even our failures. Sometimes we wanted to tell to our closest friends our problems, but many times, when we contact our friends, many times they are like "the subscriber cannot be reached". Other times, when we tell them our joys, they could not rejoice with us. When we tell our sorrows, they could not sympathize with us. But when we tell the Lord our problems, sorrows or joys, He is always available to listen to us because He is now the Spirit! We just need to call "O Lord Jesus!" He is always ready to listen to us. He also rejoices with us and also sympathizes with us. Our Lord is happy to listen to our sorrows, and He is happy to listen to our joys. Whatever our situations is, we just need to come to Him just as we are, open our heart to Him and tell Him everything.
The Lord not an unapproachable God. He did not remain as the Creator, being the Almighty God, but God went through a process so that He could be so available and be our everything. He came to us as a man, died on the cross, was buried and resurrected. And now, He is the Spirit! And as the Spirit, when we received Him, He now dwell in our human spirit. Oh, He is so available to us and He is everything to us.
